Gynaecological ultrasound

During your routine gynaecology appointment, Dr Lerm may conduct a gynaecological ultrasound to get a better view of the internal organs, in this case, the uterus, ovaries and fallopian tubes. Using high-frequency sound waves which are reflected back, Dr Lerm will be able to diagnose better, conditions related to the cervix, fallopian tubes, ovaries, uterus, bladder, or monitor the health of the reproductive organs.  A gynaecological ultrasound may be done transabdominally or transvaginally to find the cause of abnormal uterine bleeding, assess infertility issues accurately or diagnose possible endometriosis, polycystic ovaries or the cause of pelvic pain.
