Hormonal treatment

Hormonal therapy may be used for women during menopause as well as women who have had procedures, such as a salpingo-oophorectomy or oophorectomy, in which their ovaries were removed, and thus are experiencing menopausal symptoms due to the lack of female hormones. The lack of hormones such as progesterone and oestrogen can be managed with lifestyle changes and may be substituted with hormone replacement therapy to ensure symptoms such as hot flashes, mood swings, forgetfulness, recurrent bladder infections or vaginal dryness do not occur.
